TRANSMISSION FILE SUPPORT

TCU and gearbox tuning files.

Engine and gearbox, considered together.

Request calibration assessment for supported DSG, ZF, DCT and other automatic gearbox applications. Availability depends on your exact TCU software, gearbox specification and engine setup.

01 / THE APPROACH

Start with the exact transmission

Identify the gearbox

Supply the gearbox designation, TCU hardware and software numbers and original read where available. A gearbox family name alone does not confirm support for a particular version.

Coordinate engine and transmission

Tell us whether the engine is standard or tuned, its hardware modifications and intended use. Torque requests and transmission limits must be assessed together for the vehicle.

Describe the requested changes

Explain your shift-behaviour, torque-management or drivability goals. Available changes depend on software and hardware; not every gearbox supports the same options.

02 / THE PROCESS

Online TCU file service

From £60 ex VAT

This guide price applies to eligible online TCU file requests. Final scope depends on software, read method and complexity. Repairs, physical programming, coding and adaptations are quoted separately.

Request-specific timing

File-service turnaround starts from 30 minutes. Transmission requests needing additional checks may take longer. Confirm an estimate after supplying the original software and full specification.

Quotation and account delivery

Submit the request through your SGTM account, review the scope and pay through the approved Square payment process. Completed digital files are collected from the account.

03 / THE DETAILS

Checks before gearbox tuning

Diagnose faults first

Report slipping, harsh changes, warning messages, overheating and stored fault codes. Calibration is not a repair for worn clutches, hydraulic faults or mechanical damage.

Confirm tool compatibility

Provide the reading tool, protocol and read type. Keep the original backup and confirm compatibility before writing. Follow the applicable equipment and service procedures for vehicle-side work.

Plan follow-up assessment

Ask whether logs or additional checks are needed and confirm revision terms before ordering. For replacement-TCU programming or physical gearbox work, contact SGTM for the appropriate service.
