Stage 2 ECU tuning is assessed around the vehicle’s supporting hardware, not just the badge on the boot. Discuss your modifications and engine software with our Stourbridge automotive electronics workshop before requesting a custom calibration.

Stage 2 has to match the hardware package and thermal limits, not simply chase a bigger number.
SGTM reviews the ECU strategy, the supporting hardware and driveline limits before confirming support.
A Stage 2 label means different things between tuning providers. SGTM begins with the exact engine, ECU and the list of physical modifications already installed, together with vehicle diagnostics and how the car will be used.
Depending on the platform, a compatible intake, charge-air cooling or other legally compliant performance hardware can change the calibration requirements. The required hardware is not identical for every vehicle.
Explore the main ECU remapping serviceEvery enquiry is checked against the exact vehicle. Performance or economy changes are never guaranteed by model name alone.
Request an ECU check →The correct service is based on ECU identification, mechanical condition and the proposed road-compliant calibration.
Check installed components, boost and thermal demands before deciding whether Stage 2 is appropriate.
An automatic gearbox may have a separate torque limit and TCU strategy that require assessment.
We do not recommend disabling required road-use emissions controls as a shortcut to performance.
These are examples for discussion, not a promise of compatibility or specific power figures.
Some TFSI, TSI, BMW and Mercedes turbo engines may be candidates depending on ECU support and hardware.
Diesel performance work requires checks of combustion, exhaust temperature, emission-system health and drivetrain limits.
A standard vehicle is normally better assessed for Stage 1. Fitting parts does not automatically make a car suitable for Stage 2.
Registration, VIN, engine code, year, modifications and any ECU fault information.
We assess ECU hardware, software version, security access and compatibility.
Discuss health, transmission, use case and the appropriate road-compliant calibration.
We confirm the quote, workshop or selected mobile availability, and verification required.
Explore a documented ECU and calibration project. We show authentic workshop work where available and do not imply an unrelated case study is a measured tuning result.

Send your vehicle details before booking. Our workshop is in Stourbridge near Birmingham; selected West Midlands mobile visits are subject to availability. Postal module and online tuning-file services are separate from in-vehicle appointments.
Remapping may require notifying your insurer. The vehicle must meet applicable MOT, emissions and roadworthiness rules. Existing mechanical faults should be repaired before calibration.
INDIVIDUAL QUOTE · MODIFICATIONS & ECU REVIEWNo. A Stage 2 calibration is tied to installed hardware and the specific engine. The labels are not standardised across the industry.
Requirements vary by engine and intended calibration. Tell us which parts are installed so we can assess their relevance.
Some supported ECUs may be handled by a separate postal or trade-file process, but feasibility and vehicle-side verification must be confirmed first.
The vehicle must continue meeting applicable road-use, emissions, noise, insurance and MOT requirements. We assess requests accordingly.
Send the registration, VIN, engine code, year, modifications and what you want to achieve. Our team will confirm support and the appropriate next step.
